Plugins

Kryspal Media ships with a set of plugins. Some work quietly in the background; others need an account or key from you before they do anything. This page explains what each one does, how to use it, which settings you can change, and which plan it needs.

On this page
  1. Running numbers every plugin shows
  2. Name recognition
  3. Metadata recognition boost PRO · MAX
  4. Metadata
  5. TMDB FREE
  6. Images
  7. fanart.tv FREE
  8. Subtitles
  9. OpenSubtitles PRO · MAX
  10. ASSRT PRO · MAX
  11. Subtitle auto-fill PRO · MAX
  12. Playback extras
  13. Intro and credits detection PRO · MAX
  14. IntroDB PRO · MAX
  15. Media sources
  16. Remote streaming (strm) FREE
  17. Media info cache PRO · MAX
  18. Library upkeep
  19. Auto-fill missing info PRO · MAX
  20. Preferred artwork language PRO · MAX
  21. Episode numbering fix PRO · MAX

You find them in the admin console under Plugins. Each plugin page has three parts: how to use it, its settings, and how it is running. The running numbers live in memory and reset when the server restarts; “last 24 hours” is a rolling window.

Running numbers every plugin shows#

  • Calls and failures in the last 24 hours. Zero failures needs no attention. A plugin answering “not found” or “bad request” does not count as a failure.
  • Time of the last success. Hidden if it has never succeeded.

Name recognition#

Metadata recognition boost PRO · MAX#

Turns file names into a title, year, season and episode. Enabled by default and runs during scans; nothing to do. If it gets one wrong, fix the item by hand on its page.

Metadata#

TMDB FREE#

Fetches synopses, posters and cast for movies, series, people and collections.

  1. Request an access token from TMDB and paste it into the plugin settings.
  2. Pick it as a source in the library settings; it applies after the next scan.

Images#

fanart.tv FREE#

Fetches logos, backgrounds, discs and banners from fanart.tv.

  1. Paste your own key from fanart.tv.
  2. Tick it under Image sources in the library settings so scraping includes it.

Subtitles#

OpenSubtitles PRO · MAX#

Searches and downloads subtitles; also used by subtitle auto-fill.

  1. Enter your own OpenSubtitles account and password.
  2. It is used when you press Search subtitles on an item page.

A setting lets you include machine and AI translated subtitles; it is off by default. Its numbers show how many downloads the service has left today.

ASSRT PRO · MAX#

ASSRT does not come with the server. Install it from the plugin marketplace first (Plugins → Marketplace). Searches and downloads subtitles; especially strong for Chinese and bilingual subtitles. Paste your own ASSRT token and it is used when you press Search subtitles. ASSRT has no download quota.

Subtitle auto-fill PRO · MAX#

Downloads one subtitle in the background for videos that have none in the language you want. It runs automatically, very slowly, steps aside when you search by hand, and stops at the daily limit.

  1. Choose the subtitle languages to fill in the library settings.
  2. In the plugin settings, adjust the daily limit (default 10, range 1–200) and the quota kept for manual downloads (default 5, range 0–100): once the subtitle service reports fewer downloads left than this, auto-fill stops.

Its numbers show how many subtitles were downloaded in the last 24 hours and how many more can be downloaded today. Without PRO the whole queue sleeps and the page says “needs PRO”; that is not an error.

Playback extras#

Intro and credits detection PRO · MAX#

Finds the intro and credits of series and shows a Skip button during playback. New episodes are detected automatically, and you can run it by hand; you can adjust the detection range (first minutes, last minutes).

Its numbers show, for the last 24 hours, how many seasons finished, how many intros and outros were found, how many came from community data, and how many seasons are waiting.

IntroDB PRO · MAX#

Asks the IntroDB community for the times of intros, credits and recaps. Tick it under Community intro data in the library settings and detection checks the community data first.

The key is optional and only needed to upload your own manual markings (not uploaded by default).

Media sources#

Remote streaming (strm) FREE#

Plays cloud-drive or remote files (.strm). Runs automatically and can be set per library.

With many remote files, turn on Pre-read media info PRO · MAX to make the first play faster. Its numbers show reads that succeeded and failed and how many are running (reads during scans and playback count too).

Media info cache PRO · MAX#

Keeps each file’s video info (tracks, chapters, intro and outro marks) in a small file. When you rebuild or re-import a library the files need not be read again; most useful for cloud-drive libraries. Nothing to do.

Its numbers show the current number of cached files and the space they use, plus how many were cached and restored since startup.

Library upkeep#

Auto-fill missing info PRO · MAX#

Fills in missing information: regularly refreshes recent releases that are missing a synopsis or images, or whose title is still a file name. Runs on its own, every 3 days by default (the scheduled task Auto-fill missing info in the task center; you can change the time or turn it off); you can change the scope.

Its numbers show how many items the last pass queued, how many matched, and when the next pass is due.

Preferred artwork language PRO · MAX#

When several posters or logos are available, decides which language you prefer. Applied automatically while scraping; choose the original language or the library’s language.

Episode numbering fix PRO · MAX#

When your local season and episode numbers differ from the data source, set correction rules. Set them on the series page; saving refreshes that series automatically. No global action needed.

Its numbers show how many series have rules and the total number of rules.
