Offline grace and expiry
The server checks your license with the license service about every 12 hours. It does not need to stay online. This page explains how long paid features keep working without a connection, and what happens when a license ends.
On this page
Offline grace#
The offline grace is how long the server keeps your plan when it cannot reach the license service:
- Monthly plans and trial licenses: 7 days.
- Yearly and lifetime plans: 30 days.
If the server is still offline after that, it falls back to the FREE limits. Your data and settings are not deleted. As soon as the server reconnects and confirms the license, the plan returns.
While offline, the License page shows how many days remain and what it cannot reach: the internet, or the license service. A server on a fully isolated network cannot keep a paid plan.
When the license service cannot be reached#
The server must be able to reach license.kryspal.net. If the License page says it can't reach the license service, allow that domain in your firewall, router or DNS filter (an ad blocker, for example), and let the server use your proxy for it if you run one.
Expiry and renewal#
- Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically through the payment provider. The server waits up to 24 hours for the renewal to arrive before it downgrades, so normal renewals do not interrupt anything.
- If you do not renew (you cancel or a payment fails), the server returns to FREE at the end of the period. Your data, members, parental control settings and backups are kept. Members and devices over the FREE limits follow the rules in Members and Devices and simultaneous streams: you can choose which members to keep, and the earliest signed-in devices keep working.
- After you buy again or renew, enter the same license key to restore your plan. The key does not change.
- A key that was refunded or lost a payment dispute stops working immediately.
Where to see your status#
Open License in the admin console. It shows the plan, period, end date, the email it is licensed to, current usage against the limits for members, devices and simultaneous streams, and the bound servers.
