Intro and outro
Intro and credits marks let players show a Skip button. This page explains how marks get onto episodes (by hand, by detection or from community data) and how players use them.

Marks you set by hand FREE#
Administrators mark intros and outros in the web player, while the episode plays:
- Play the episode and open the Mark panel.
- At the moment the intro ends, press Intro ends. At the moment the credits begin, press Outro starts. The player uses the current playback position.
- Drag the boundaries to fine-tune them.
- To use the same marks on the other episodes, press Apply … to the rest of the season. The result tells you how many episodes were marked, skipped, did not match or failed.
In the admin console, open an item and look at its Intro and outro panel. It lists the intro, outro, recap and next-episode preview marks the item has and where each came from (Detected, Chapters, Marked by hand, Applied to season, Imported). There you can only Confirm or Clear each mark.
Marks you set or confirm by hand always win. Automatic detection and community data never overwrite or remove a mark you made or locked.
Detect intros and outros automatically PRO · MAX#
The Skip intro and outro plugin compares the audio of the episodes in one season, finds the opening and ending they share, and marks them on every episode.
- Open Plugins, open Skip intro and outro and enable it.
- New episodes are detected automatically after a scan has added them. The Detect automatically switch in the plugin settings covers only this (it is a feature switch, not a schedule).
- The whole library is handled by the scheduled task Intro and outro detection in the task center. By default it runs on Sundays between 01:00 and 06:00; you can change the time or turn it off, or run it now from the plugin page. A restart does not make up for a missed run.
- Whether a library is checked at all depends on Intro and outro audio detection in the library settings.
- Optionally change Opening search length (seconds) (default 480, the first 8 minutes) and Ending search length (seconds) (default 300, the last 5 minutes).
Notes:
- A season needs at least 2 episodes.
- It runs slowly in the background and steps aside while someone is watching, so cloud drives and small machines are not slowed down.
- You can apply a confirmed mark from one episode to the rest of the season.
- The plugin page shows how many seasons were checked and how many marks were found in the last 24 hours.
Use community data PRO · MAX#
The IntroDB plugin asks a community database for intro and credits times, so no audio comparison is needed. It also works for cloud-drive videos.
- Open Plugins, open IntroDB and enable it. The key is optional; you only need it to upload your own marks to the community, which is off by default.
- Open Libraries, choose the library, and add IntroDB under Community intro data. Detection then checks community data first.
Community data is used only when the video length matches (within 2 seconds of the data), to avoid applying marks from a different version.
How players skip#
- Our own web player and apps: a Skip button appears during the intro FREE. A member can also turn on Auto skip in their preferences and choose which kinds to skip (intro, outro, recap, preview) PRO · MAX.
- Third-party players (Infuse, SenPlayer and others using Emby or Jellyfin compatibility): the server can pass the marks to them so they can use their own skip feature PRO · MAX. Whether a button appears depends on the player.
